* Amaury was born in Ishgard. The second child of House Rosiers, his mother already had a male heir in Cyran and so started preparing Amaury from a young age to be a wife and mother. As a young child Amaury took poorly to lessons on homemaking, to this day he's still an atrocious cook. Amalia had a "children should be seen and not heard" attitude to parenting, and while Cyran met her expectations easily, Amaury did not, only falling further and further behind in her estimations. Thusly, his mother set to ignoring him unless there was something she felt he needed to be scolded for.When Amaury was 12 years old Nidhogg awoke once more from his slumber, and Amaury's father was one of the casualties of the attack. The entire house was devastated, and it caused even more pressure to be put on Amaury to keep up. Meanwhile he was struggling in just about any form of weapons training provided to him, and only seemed to excel in aetherical studies. At age 18 Amaury's mother had made arrangements for him to be wed when he came of age, and fully grew into his adult body. At the time Amaury was delighted by his husband to be, and genuinely excited to be a wife, but as his growth spurt hit so did his dysphoria. He was viscerally uncomfortable with his body. When he told his fiance that he didn't want to be a woman his fiance called off their wedding.

Amaury was a good student it the Scholasticate, though a shy and unsociable one. During his time there he studied Alchemy, Astrology, and Thaumaturgy alongside Halonic scripture, and advanced much further than he had been able to under the instruction within his own house. Despite throwing himself into his studies, he was unable to distract from his general anatomical distress. So, age 22 he fled. He sent a missive to his teachers at the Scholasticate that he had intentions of furthering his studies abroad, but it was mostly a cover to get out of a home that was cruel to him, and a body that he had truly come to loathe. He traveled to Ul'dah, requested to join the Alchemist's Guild and began taking much more elaborate steps to transition both socially, and medically.During his time abroad he also started working as an adventurer, and grew to love traveling. He started a Free Company and adored the process of management, and organization, and also meeting people from so many different places around the star he called home. He's seen most of Eorzea at this point, and at one point traveled to the Far East and all the way to the Azim Steppe to visit the homeland of one of his comrades. One of his companions ended up being an Astrolgian from Sharlayan who took great offense to Amaury's "mockery of their art" and began teaching him more aetherical healing. Though he's still far from a master healer.

After a decade of absence, Amaury was contacted by his family. His elder brother was now wed, with a child of his own shortly arriving, and he requested Amaury return to Ishgard, by name. Though the man hesitated, he was worried about the trials the young child was to face in the house that was so cruel to him, so he returned. His nephew arrived only a few weeks after he had stepped back into Ishgard.Once Amaury saw how beloved his nephew was quickly becoming in the eyes of his family he likely would have left Ishgard once more, happy to resume his travels away from the judgemental eyes of his family and the memories of a painful adolescence, but just as he was running errands to prepare for his departure, he ran into a group of people at the Forgotten Knight...

Amaury is well studied in a variety of books, and keeps a well stocked library. He has books on aetherology, botany, chemistry, history and a massive selection of fiction both romantic and not. Though, beware, Amaury is fond of spicier books than a lot of people.

▍ ❝   TRAVELED
Amaury loves traveling, and loves hearing about the places that other people have been to, he'd be elated to ask about your latest vacation or adventure. He's been to most of the places around Eorzea, as well as Othard, Kugane, and the Azim Steppe.

Amaury adores gossip. He is nosey and wants to know what's going on in everyone's lives. Especially in relationship drama, he loves love and wants to know about people's various crushes, he will generally support most if not all various romantic endeavors.
